Angeliki Daskalakis, 72, of Leet Township, passed away on Monday, March 16, 2020 after a courageous battle with a prolonged illness. She was born on April 27, 1947 in Chania, Crete, Greece to the late Emmanuel and Argyro (Papadakis) Nikolaidis. She had a strong faith and was a long time member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, Ambridge where she belonged to the Ladies Philoptochos Society. Her passion in life was spending time with her family and enjoying her grandchildren. Her love of cooking and baking brought the family together. She also enjoyed getting together at the local coffee shop with her knitting group. Preceding her in death in addition to her parents was a brother, Timoleon Nikolaidis. She is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Dimitrios Daskalakis, five children, Crissy (Tom) Moran of Sewickley, Argy (Taki) Darakos of South Fayette Twp., Katina Flaskos of Beaver, Stella (John) Velisaris of Bethel Park, George Daskalakis of Beaver, proud grandmother of Alexis Moran, Toula, Demetri and Harry Darakos, Harry and Angie Flaskos, Katerina, Angelina, Peter, and Arianna Velisaris, Gia and Dimitri Daskalakis, and a sister, Evangelia (Nikos) Vavoulakis of Chania, Crete, Greece. Friends will be received on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM in the John Syka Funeral Home, Inc. 833 Kennedy Dr., Ambridge. A private funeral service will be held in Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church. Father Anastasios Athanasiou will officiate. Interment will follow in Economy Cemetery. A Trisagion service will be offered Wednesday at 6 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 2930 Beaver Rd. Ambridge.
