Walter King Obituary

Walter A. King, 81, of New Sewickley Twp, passed away on Wednesday, December 18, 2019 in Heritage Valley, Sewickley. He was born January 11, 1938 in West View, PA. He worked at the former Northern Light Co. in the Northside, Pittsburgh, and as a pipe inspector at Koppel Steel, Ambridge,  retiring in 2001 with 10 years of service. He was a member of New Hope Lutheran Church. Walt enjoyed spending time at the Slippery Rock Campground where he enjoyed playing golf. He was preceded in death by a son, David King. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Patricia (Rohrer) King, a daughter, Tracy Varner of Las Vegas, four stepchildren, Sue (Rick) Tucker of Economy, John ( Cheryl) Smith of Slippery Rock, Lori ( Jeff) Nasland of Margate, FL, Ray (Christine) Smith of Economy, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Friends will be received on Sunday from   1-5  PM in the John Syka Funeral Home,  Inc. 833 Kennedy Dr,  Ambridge. Family and friends are invited to attend a funeral service on Monday at 9:00 AM at the New Hope Lutheran Church, 200 2nd Ave. Economy officiated by his pastor, Rev. Martin Galbraith. Entombment with full military honors provided by the Beaver County Special Unit and the US Navy will follow in Sylvania Hills Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to the New Hope Lutheran Church.
