Sylvia Vega

Sylvia Vega, 85, of Conway, passed away on Saturday, September 21, 2019 in Cura Health Hospital, Brighton Township. She was born January 7, 1934 in Baden, to the late Thomas and Brigid Boyle Furness. She was a retired supervisor for the US Postal Service. Sylvia was a 1952 graduate of Ambridge High School and a lifelong resident of Beaver County. Her passions in life were solving crossword puzzles, reading, playing cards, bingo, and slot machines. Sylvia loved the outdoors and nature. Preceding her  in death in addition to her parents were her husband, Martin Vega and six siblings, Terrence Furness, Elizabeth Chismire, Richard Furness, Charles Furness, Robert Furness, and Kathleen Maruskin. She is survived by four children, Sherin (Randy) Campbell of Baden, Corina Vega, Bryn Vega, and Michael Vega, all of Conway, four grandchildren, Ross Golowicz, Sean Bishop, Alyssa Vega, Jay (Lindsay) Bishop, three great grandchildren, Dane, Landry, and Bryce Bishop, brother and sister-in-law, George and Mary Furness of Gresham, OR, sister, Norma Furness of Baden, sister-in-law, Carol Furness, and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. A visitation will be held on Thursday from 6 PM until the time of a memorial service at 7 PM in the John Syka Funeral Home, Inc., 833 Kennedy Drive, Ambridge. The Rev. Allan Drake, pastor of The Living Word of Plum will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to PTLS Foundation,  P.O. Box 250245, Plano, Texas, 75025.
