Olga Petkash Obituary

With heavy hearts we say goodbye to our beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.  Olga Tylosky Petkash,  age 104, of Ambridge is now at peace. She passed away on Monday, October 8, 2018 in Good Samaritan Hospice, Beaver.
Olga was born February 4, 1914 in Olyphant, Pa. and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Tatianna Pryz Tylosky. Preceding her in death in addition to her parents was her beloved husband, Michael, loving son, Donald, a grandson, Greg Beckett,  four brothers and six sisters. She is survived by two daughters, Ruth and Tom Koloski with whom she resided
for the past 15 years, Elaine and Danny Smith, daughter-in-law, Pearl Petkash and a sister Dorothy Pollock. Olga was a proud wonderful grandmother to eight grandchildren  and 13 great grandchildren. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Faith, family and friends were most important in Olgas life. She was the oldest member of Holy Ghost Orthodox Church where she worshipped for 90 years. She served God and her church in so many ways and was a member and past president of the Ladies Altar Society. Olga was very generous and always  ready to lend a helping  hand. Her favorite hobbies included quilting, gardening, and sewing. Visitors always received home made baked goods, home grown  vegetables, fruit or her famous  hand sewn potholders. Friends will be received on Wednesday from 2pm until time of Parastas services at 7pm in the John Syka Funeral Home,  833 Kennedy Dr., Ambridge. Translation of the body will follow to Holy Ghost Orthodox Church. Additional visitation  will take place on Thursday  from 10am until time of  funeral  services at 11am  in Holy Ghost Orthodox Church officiated by her pastor,  The Very Rev William J. Evansky. The family would like to thank the nurses of Good Samaritan Hospice  for the loving and compassionate  care extended to Olga  while  under  their  care.  Memorial contributions  are suggested  to be made in Olgas memory  to Holy Ghost Orthodox  Church 210 Maplewood Avenue Ambridge, PA 15003.
