Joseph Phillip Mattie

Joseph Phillip Mattie, Sr., 81, of Economy died Sunday, April 14, 2019 in Heritage Valley, Sewickley. He was born August 15, 1937 in Ambridge, to the late Thomas and Anne (Uhrin) Mattie, Sr. He was a retired welder for Armco Steel Corporation. Preceding him in death in addition to his parents were a sister, Anne Bennett and a brother, Thomas Mattie, Jr. He is survived by his wife, Joanne (Slappo) Mattie, a son, Joseph Phillip Mattie Jr., Economy, two daughters, Lorraine Miller of Ambridge and Sue Nelson of Economy, a brother, Steve (Ruth) Mattie of Baden and a sister, Mary Mattie of Colorado. Friends will be received on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6 until time of funeral services at 7:30 PM in the John Syka Funeral Home, Inc. 833 Kennedy Drive, Ambridge. Interment will take place in Good Samaritan Cemetery.
