Joseph Andrew Hellwig, 53, of Baden, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 7, 2018, surrounded by his loving family. He was born December 4, 1964, in Sewickley, Pa., to the late Richard and Wilma Tkatch Hellwig. He was a concrete laborer for Labor Ok Union Local 1058, Pittsburgh, and a member of St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, Baden. His passions in life were golfing, singing and karaoke. Joe's hearty laugh and booming voice will be remembered by all. Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, were his wife, Karen Hellwig and a brother-in-law, Keith Brown. Surviving are four siblings, Andrea Brown of New Sewickley, Marrianne (Steve) Warkonyi of Economy, Richard A. (Colleen) Hellwig of Economy, and Kristine Ventresca of Ambridge; nieces and nephews, Jessica (Chris) McKeown, Jodi (Matt) Marchionda, Michelle Brown, Jaime Warconyi, Ashley (Tim) Newmyer, Keith Brown, Rick Hellwig, Anthony Ventresca, and Kristopher Ventresca; great-nieces and great-nephews, Alayna and Eann Shaw, Norah and Claire Marchionda, Mason Huskins, Stella Newmyer, and Cole Newmyer; a stepson, Jamie Rump of Pittsburgh; and his loving cat, Mouser. Friends will be received at the JOHN SYKA FUNERAL HOME INC., 833 Kennedy Drive, Ambridge, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. where prayers will be offered Wednesday at 9 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Beaver County Humane Society, 3394 Brodhead Rd., Aliquippa, PA 15001.
