James M. Eliou, 90, of Ambridge, fell asleep in Christ on Friday, April 27, 2018 in his home.
He was born November 14, 1927, in Patmos, Greece. He was the son of the late Michael and Anna Lagoumizis Eliou. James was a retired foreman in the round mill department of the former J&L Steel Corporation. He was a member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, Ambridge.
Surviving are his loving wife of 62 years, Christina Rigas Eliou, children, Anna (Tom) Napoleon of Indiana, Michael (Lisa) Eliou of Pittsburgh, Katina Eliou of Harmony Twp., Emanuel Eliou of Ambridge, adopted daughter Gayle Maretti of Harmony Twp., adopted son, John Fennick of Butler, 3 grandsons, James (Carrie) Eliou, Joseph Eliou, and Dimitri Napoleon, sister, Irene Nicholas of Aliquippa, numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. Preceding him in death in addition to his parents were his 5 brothers and 3 sisters.
Friends will be received Monday from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. in the the John Syka Funeral Home, Inc., 833 Kennedy Drive, Ambridge. Additional visitation will take place on Tuesday from noon until time of funeral services at 12:30 P.M. in Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox, 2930 Beaver Road , Ambridge, with Father Emmanuel N. Lillios officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery. The family would like to thank the Doctors and staff of Heritage Valley, Sewickley, Medic Rescue and the Ambridge Police Department for their compassion and concern in caring for Jimmy. May his memory be eternal.
