Irene B. Friel

Irene B. Friel, 86, of Economy  died Thursday, March 15, 2018 in Good Samaritan Hospice House, Marshall Twp.
She  was born October 20, 1931, in Sewickley, Pa.,  to the late Frederick M. and Irene B. Schaffer  Schermerhorn. She retired as human resource manager for Kmart Corporation and was a member of SS John and Paul Catholic Church, Wexford.  Preceding  her in death in addition to her parents were her husband, Thomas J. Friel and a sister and brother-in-law, Lillian and Paul Gross and brother-in-law Joseph Meinert.
Surviving are  five  sons, Richard Friel of Economy,  Robert (Bonnie) Friel of North Carolina,  Donald Joseph (Linda) Friel of Baden,  Frederick Thomas Friel of Philadelphia,  and Charles Patrick Friel of Economy, five grandchildren, Matthew (Nicole) Friel,  Carrie Stephens   Holly Friel and Dennis Leonard   Daniel Friel,   Donald (Tracey) Friel  five great grandchildren, Chelsea and Courtney Stephens  Dillian Kerrick,   Lexie and Tanner Friel , and a sister, Margaret Meinert of Zelienople, Friends will be received Sunday from 1-5 in the John Syka Funeral Home, Inc. 833 Kennedy Drive, Ambridge, where prayers will offered Monday at 9:15 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. in SS John and Paul Catholic Church, 2586 Wexford Bayne Road,  Interment will follow in Good Samaritan Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Good Samaritan Hospice, 134 Marwood Road, Cabot, Pa. 16023
