Helyn Swobe, 98, a resident of Masonic Village, Aleppo Twp. formerly of Ambridge and Aliquippa, passed away on Monday, November 5, 2019. She was born on December 26, 1920 in Finleyville, PA to the late Martin and Kathryn (Mazurek) Beley of Ambridge. Helyn was a graduate of Ambridge High School. She and her husband were co-owners of Swobe and Deane Pontiac-Buick in Ambridge for more than 25 years. She was a member of House of Prayer Lutheran Church, Aliquippa. In addition to her parents, Helyn was preceded in death by her husband, William F. Swobe, her brothers, John and Theodore Beley, and her sisters, Ann Ling and Mary Tani. Surviving are her two daughters and sons-in-law, Elaine Swobe and Jeffrey Hopper and Kathleen and Michael Couch, all of Atlanta, GA, and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends are being recieved on Saturday, November 16, 2019 from 10:30 AM until time of Memorial Service at 11:00 AM in the Clubhouse Assembly Room at the Masonic Village, 1000 Masonic Drive, Sewickley, Pa. 15143. Rev. Tim Reichard, Director of Pastoral Care at the Masonic Village will officiate. Private interment will follow in Economy Cemetery. The family wishes to thank the caregivers and staff of the Sturgeon Health Care Center at Masonic Village and Amedisys Hospice for their kind and compassionate care of their Mom in her later years. In lieu of flowers, donations if desired may be made to Masonic Village of Sewickley, 1000 Masonic Drive, Sewickley, PA 15143. Arrangements have been entrusted to the John Syka Funeral Home, Inc. of Ambridge.
