Helen Sikora Obituary

Helen Sikora, 99, of Sewickley, passed away November 24, 2019, in Lafayette, Indiana. 
She was born July 5, 1920, in Nanty Glo, Pa. to the late Wasko and Barbara Melenchick.  Helen was a member of St. Alexis Church in Lafayette, Ind. and was a former member of St. Vladimir Orthodox Church, Ambridge.  She was a devoted housewife and mother who was proceded in death by her loving husband, Joseph S. Sikora.  Their enjoyment in life, beside family, was to help the church sisterhood making Pyrohy. 
They are survived by their two sons and families, son, Joseph and Patricia of Lafayette, Ind.; granddaughters, Nickoll and Matt Richardson of Chicago, Il. having her great grandchildren, Sophie, Evan and Henry; Megan and Barrett Schlotthauer of New York City, N.Y. having her great grandson, Elliot; grandson, Chad Sikora and Maja Tartaro of Long Island City, N.Y. and son, Dennis and Karen of Newburgh, Ind.; three granddaughters Erin and Chad Green of Lexington, Ky. having her great grandchildren, Jackson and Emma; Emily and Ryan King of Bainbridge, Ind. having her great grandchildren, Wyatt, Garrett and Easton; Ellen and Whitney Brown of Indianapolis Ind. having her great grandchildren, Stella, Fletcher and Walker. 
Helen was preceded in death by her sisters, Mary DeMaiolo, Ann Sikich, Julia Columbus and brother, John Melenchick.
Family and friends will be received Friday December 13, 2019, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 7:30 P.M. in the JOHN SYKA FUNERAL HOME INC., 833 Kennedy Drive, Ambridge, PA 15003.  After the Parastas at 7:30 P.M., translation of the body will follow to St. Vladimir Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 313 9th Street, Ambridge, PA 15003, where a Panachyda service will be held at 8 P.M. Family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Saturday morning, December 14, 2019 at 9 A.M., where a funeral service will be held with The Very Rev. Michael Kochis officiating. A procession will follow to Sylvania Hills Memorial Park, 273 Route 68, Rochester, PA 15074, for internment next to her husband.
There will be a luncheon for family and friends following the burial at JW Hall's Restaurant, 2284 Brodhead Road, Aliquippa, PA 15001, from approximately 11:15 A.M.. to 2 P.M.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to St. Vladimir Parish Endowment Fund, Attn. Father Michael Kochis, 313 9th Street, Ambridge, PA 15003.
