Genevieve G. Chehovits, 97, a resident of St. John Specialty Care, Mars, formerly of New Sewickley, died Tuesday, May 22, 2018. She was born July 8, 1920, in Pittsburgh, Pa., to the late Adam and Stella Maczynski Malinowski. She was a cook for many years at the Economy Elementary School and later worked for a catering company in Ambridge. She was a member Good Samaritan Catholic Church, Ambridge, Economy Senior Citizens, and Economy Women's Club. Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, were her husband, Joseph J. Chehovits; a son, Kenneth Chehovits; three infant siblings; a sister, Salma Bader; and a brother, Chester Malinowski. Surviving are three children, Joan Bungo of Ambridge, and Robert Chehovits and Shirley Peters, both of New Sewickley, Twp.; ten grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Joann Chehovits; nieces/sisters, Theresa Fausti of Economy and Beverly Dawson of Baden; and many other numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the JOHN SYKA FUNERAL HOME INC., 833 Kennedy Drive, Ambridge, where prayers will be offered Saturday at 10:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 11 a.m. in Good Samaritan Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Good Samaritan Cemetery.
