Fred J. Usnick Economy Fred J. Usnick, 78, of Economy, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 30, 2018. He was born April 25, 1940, in Bethel Park, Pa., to the late Andrew and Marie Misok Usnick. He was a conductor for the Norfolk and Southern Railroad with forty years of service. He was a member of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, Conway. Fred's passion in life was his family. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and the Pitt Panthers. Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, was a son-in-law, Gil Simmons. Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Patricia A. Kost Usnick; three daughters, Yvonne (Jim) Morris of Sugar Grove, Pa., Cynthia Simmons of Apollo, and Janice Usnick (Brian) Baker of Massanutten, Va.; eight grandchildren, Scott Usnick, Becky (Tony) Kempa, Anthony Spagnolo, Shelly Curtis, Kayla Curtis, Joshua Simmons, Jessica Simmons, and Wyatt Baker; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lois Leech and Jacqueline (Robert) Brandt; two brothers, William Usnick and Richard (Carol) Usnick; brother-in-law, Mike Kost; numerous nieces and nephews, and his loving dog, Andy. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1 p.m. until the time of funeral services at 2 p.m. in the JOHN SYKA FUNERAL HOME INC., 833 Kennedy Drive, Ambridge.
