Dolores Jean Gulish, 85 of Harmony Township, a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, died peacefully on Monday, March 26, 2018 in Heritage Valley Health System, Sewickley, with her loving family by her side.
She was born August 27, 1932, in Punxsutawney, PA. A daughter of the late Anthony and Orsola Feola Gallina. Dolly was the youngest of 11 children.
She graduated from St. Cosmos and Damian Catholic High School in 1950. After school she helped in the family business in Punxsutawney. She was a waitress in her sister Mary's Diner and years later also helped at her brother Ben's roller skating rink til she got married.
Dolores married her husband Andrew on February 20, 1960 and the reception was at the skating rink. Her husband Andy passed away on February 26, 2002 after 42 years together. She had resided on Woodland Road in Harmony Twp. for the past 58 years where she and her husband raised their children.
Dolly with her husband's blessing, went back home in the mid-80's to help her brother Ben take care of their 2 sisters who passed away 2 months apart. She again went to her childhood home in Punxsutawney in 2000 to help take care of her brother Ben before his passing.
She was a member of St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church, where she was a Pirogi worker for years.
Dolores was unselfish and an over giving person and had an infectious smile that you would always remember.
Surviving are her 2 sons Michael A. & Steven M. Gulish at home with her. A grandson Marc Steven Gulish and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Preceding her in death were her husband Andrew Gulish, daughters Michele M. Gulish in 2005 and an infant at birth in 1960. Brothers Benjamin, Anthony, and Carmen (Mary) Gallina. Sisters Mary, Josephine, Sara Gallina, Julia (Michael) Micolella, Pauline (Roy) Carlo, Lucy (Anthony) Defazio, and Virginia(Daniel) Calabrace.
A Private family visitation was held in the John Syka Funeral Home, Inc., 833 Kennedy Drive, Ambridge, followed by a private funeral service with
Father Mykhaylo Shkyndya Officiating. Private Interment followed in SS Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery.
