Catherine Mary Landess

Our dearest mother, Catherine Mary Landess, passed away in her home on Monday, September 23, 2019, after a 13-year battle with lung cancer. We are very fortunate to have been able to spend so much time with her after her initial diagnosis.
Cathy is survived by her two loving daughters, Laura and Christine; son-in-law, Peter; Miilo-Sebastian, her faithful grand-pup Doberman Pinscher; her two step-grandsons, Torey and Jesse; her sister, Dorothy Radovic; niece, Donna Wozniak; nephew, Robert Mecchia; and their extended families. 
She is preceded in death by her mother and father, Olga Solero and Angelo Mecchia; her sister, Gloria Mecchia; brother, Robert; and brother-in-law, Sam Radovic. 
Cathy was passionate and meticulous, a selfless mother and true friend. Cathy was very talented in landscaping and gardening in which she enjoyed very much. She also loved everything about ballroom dancing…socializing, choosing her wardrobe and styling her hair! Another fun favorite of hers was the infamous scratch off tickets! Cathy, also, very much enjoyed her career at Sewickley Valley Hospital for over 40 years, especially the fast pace of the Emergency Room. A devoted daughter and sister, Cathy will be remembered by her family for the loving care she provided to her mother, father and sister in their time of need.
A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2019, from 10:00 A.M. until time of Blessing Service at 11 A.M. in the JOHN SYKA FUNERAL HOME INC., 833 Kennedy Drive, Ambridge. Interment will be private.
